Alternative media files are electronic copies of PRO-ED products that we provide to customers who have a disability that impairs their ability to read print (e.g., blindness or dyslexia). Customers use these files to enable them to read the product using scanning software or to create large print versions of the item. Alternative media files are NOT e-books. There is no charge for the files, but customers (including students) must first purchase a print copy.

Students must make the request for alternative media through their school's Office for Students with Disabilities (OSD). If for some reason no electronic files are available, we will send a print copy of the item for the OSD to scan to create files. PRO-ED does not provide files directly to students. To obtain alternative media files for a product, the request must come from the school's OSD and should include the product title(s) and author's name(s). The request must be submitted in writing via mail, email, or fax.

Customers other than students should download our Request for Alternative Media Form (PDF) and return it via mail, email, or fax. If for some reason no electronic files are available, we will give permission for the product to be scanned to create files. Customers will need to provide a description of their disability, proof of purchase, and the title and author names of the product requested. Material is strictly limited to the sole use of the person making the request and cannot be distributed to others.

We offer complimentary e-book desk copies to teachers and professors who are requiring 10 or more students to purchase a copy of that title (usually a book) for a college course. You will receive an e-book for your review copy or desk copy, accompanied by an e-book Instructor’s Manual, if one is available. To request your e-book desk copy, simply send an email to deskcopy@proedinc.com from your university email address with the following information: instructor's name; the course title, number, and semester; and an estimate of the number of students you're expecting to attend the course.

Return Policy

Please include a copy of your invoice and the reason for your return with the item. In order to expedite your credit, please make sure that the item is in saleable condition and is not out of print by calling our toll free number at (800) 897-3202. Damaged products sent back to us will be recycled. We will no longer offer the option of sending damaged products back to you. Pursuant to our standard policy, PRO-ED shall only give refunds and credits on products returned to us in salable, non-damaged condition.

30-Day Gurantee

All our products are sold on a 30-day approval. If you are not satisfied, you can return any product within 30 days from the date you receive it for a full refund, less handling charges.

Customs charges and duties may be applied to a shipment when it enters a foreign country. These charges are determined by the country's government and are collected by the package courier upon delivery of goods. The carrier, acting as customs broker, may also charge a processing fee that you are responsible for paying. PRO-ED plays no role in assigning or collecting these duties.

Training Discounts

If you're purchasing a test or part of a test for the sole purpose of teaching students to administer that test in a formal educational setting, you qualify for our 40% Test-Training Discount (available only to accredited university training programs and courses on the purchase of tests). To obtain this discount, you'll need to provide us some basic information about the course for which you're ordering the test(s): title, number, semester offered, and the number of students you're expecting to attend. PRO-ED Test User Qualifications

Welcome to PRO-ED, Inc./LinguiSystems's online qualification system. In order to purchase assessments requiring qualification levels B or C, you must complete our User Acceptance Form on which you enter the qualification information. Because this is a new system, all customers (new and existing) will be required to establish or re-establish their credentials (OR) the credentials of the qualified user they are purchasing on behalf of in order to purchase assessments requiring qualification levels B or C. The User Acceptance Form consists of a short list of questions regarding your training and professional credentials. The information you must provide can be for yourself or another qualified user. If you have submitted qualifications previously to PRO-ED, Inc./LinguiSystems for orders made on a website account (either your own or another purchaser's account) via the manual qualifications form used for fax, email, phone, mail, or webform ordering, you will still need to re-submit your qualifications on your website account to be able to add B and C level products to your cart.

If you would like to order by webform, phone, fax, or mail instead of online and we do not already have your qualifications (i.e., you did not create a website account and submit them), then complete our downloadable User Acceptance Form and return to us via email at: qualifications@proedinc.com.
